The idea of teaching a couple how to fight back together against an assault is a very good idea, we truly liked and appreciated it.

Terry Silsby’s clearly demonstrated the benefit of shooting from a side forward stance with gun at below eye level and gun near body position. This type of close up shooting is totally different from the method taught to us by our original gun instructors. Common sense tells us, Terry’s shooting method is superior.

Terry showed us the merit of carrying concealed in the ready position which can literally save your life.  In addition, they taught us how to disarm an assailant then turn the gun on the attacker…remarkable. Prepared Firearms is an exceptionally professional firearms training company and invaluable asset to the community. Led by Terry Silsby, they offer insightful, educational and hands-on courses that have prepared me as a firearms owner who also has a concealed carry permit. I took Class 1 and Class 2 as well as the Law Class for Idaho Enhanced CCW and time at the range. I was simply amazed. Their qualifications as instructors, their experience, knowledge, communication and organizational skills as well as expertise on the range are impeccable. Understanding the responsibilities of being a firearms owner, application of the law, safety first, awareness, ethics, proper technique and methods to avoid conflict are a major focus of the courses provided.

Their level of focus and awareness on the range and imparting that upon their students when it comes to safety, handling and operating of firearms is astounding. The hands-on education in regards to the 911 role play is a vital aspect of the courses provided in class and on the range. If I am ever faced with a situation where I need to call 911, I am prepared. My level of awareness and skills at handling and operating firearms have greatly improved because of taking these courses with them. The information and instruction is also presented in a way that is easy for me to comprehend, digest and put into practice. If there is a question that I have, they are patient, great at listening and answering my questions and they also check to make sure that I understand the answer to the question that I asked.

I've had numerous "Wow, that's brilliant! I didn't even know that. This information is so important! I'm so glad I'm taking this course!" moments many times throughout the classes and at the range. After taking the classes, I reflect on what I've learned and the knowledge and skills I take with me from the courses actually stay with me. I'm also inspired to practice more at the range as they taught me so many vital skills when it comes to stances, handling, aiming and properly pulling the trigger, along with breath control. I feel more confident, knowledgable and prepared as an owner of firearms, especially as a carrier of a concealed weapons permit. Thank you Terry for teaching me so much and living up to the name of your company, Prepared Firearms. I'm looking forward to taking the next classes offered!
